‘Til the Morning’ is the buoyant new single from Montreal’s emerging pop powerhouse Claire Ridgely. Is follows on from an outstanding 2018 which saw the release of debut single ‘Days Under the Sun’ and sophomore offering ‘California’, both of which received wide support from press and Spotify alike. With over 30 million streams to her name as a featured artist, there is no doubting Ridgley’s writing talent. ‘Til The Morning’ sees Ridgely narrate a tale of fast love, set against a sun-soaked, bouncy alt-pop beat.
“I met a guy after a great show and it felt like I was on top of the world. We had a whirlwind of an evening but in the morning, he was gone and the buzz from the night before had settled. “‘Til the Morning” was produced by Montreal duo Pops & Poolboy. It was recorded in the middle of summer at my home studio after going sober for a month. There was an ease to recording this one – not only was my voice in good shape, but I had a clear approach to the song. We kept the very first take. I remember my friend Simone came over after the session and we just sat on my balcony in the sunshine, listening to Poolboy mix the tune through an open window.”
