Firstly, could you tell our readers something about yourself that they might not find out otherwise?
I’m an extremely sarcastic person and the artwork for my first single ‘FMLU’ is actually real – It’s a picture of my tattoo from the inside of my lip.
Where are you based?
I’m currently in London but have been back and forth from Sweden since I was 15.
Your EP ‘Six One Zero’ is related to your area in your hometown, do you think your city affects your sound, and how would you describe it?
My city and childhood have 100% affected my sound. I used to listen to a lot of Britney Spears who is still a big influence, especially the Blackout era. Sweden has a rich history of pop music, so it’s in my veins. I guess I’d describe my sound as dark pop, but I’d rather the listener make up their own minds.
Talk to us about the lead single ‘One More Time’ what is the meaning behind it?
The meaning behind ‘One More Time’ is when you realise you’ve been in a toxic relationship and you have finally come to your senses, so both of you decide to move one. However, you want them just that ONE more time, you know, because you think that will help you move on and be a goodbye. The video for this one is coming very soon, and when watching it you’ll notice that it’s shot in a different way to most music videos. Can’t wait to share it with you all.
What does your ‘Six One Zero’ EP draw upon thematically?
As it’s my first body of work I wanted to represent where I am now, and my journey so far – which was hard to do in 5 songs. The tracks are about the struggles of life; romantic relationships, heartbreak, the good and bad friends, working, partying and being young. You know, all the stuff we all go through.
Did the EP evolve significantly in the studio from the original demos?
I’ve been writing for this EP since 2017 so it has definitely evolved and changed throughout the whole process. I wrote over 20 songs for it.
Is there a stand out track for you from ‘Six One Zero’ if so, why?
My out and out favourite from the EP is ‘Gimme’, which was the 2nd song I released. I just love the whole production and sound of the song. A video was shot for it, but we scrapped it as it didn’t live up to my expectations, which sucked but a lesson learned for sure. I do love them all but ‘Whoops’ and ‘Wait & See’ are the two I’m currently listening to. I can’t wait to perform ‘Wait & See’ live, it’s so sassy and fun.
What do fans have to look forward to over the next few months?
