Silk Cinema are a London based independent project, comprising of members Kristy X (vocals) and Raph A (production). Their new single ‘No More’ is a laid-back electro-pop number; arpeggiated synths pepper an otherwise contemporary arrangement with a refreshing dose of nostalgia. The way that the percussion provides rhythmic interplay with Kristy’s smooth vocals evokes shades of AlunaGeorge and WESLEE; vibrant and playful. Silk Cinema are definitely a band to keep an eye on this year.
“We sometimes describe ourselves as Sade in space. Not all our songs fit that but No More fits it pretty well. The song is about having enough of a bad situation and resolving to not accept it anymore. It also acknowledges the nagging doubts and insecurities that can come from this.” – Silk Cinema
