Dillistone is an emerging electronic-pop producer who hails from London, via Copenhagen and Shanghai. Dillistone has hit #1 on Hype Machine multiple times and his music boasts some enviable streaming numbers, with six tracks hitting seven figure counts. His new single ‘Forget About Me’ is a collaboration with Rome-based songwriter LILI N.
It opens with a sample of, what I assume is LILI N, musing on relationships and suffering. Then Dillistone’s vocal kicks in, floating on a Drake-esque beat that holds the melody perfectly. When LILI’s vocal joins in, providing some harmonic contrast, it becomes apparent that this is emotional writing, felt by both parties. There’s a rawness to the vocals, unfiltered lyricism and restrained processing that brings you right into the narrative. ‘Forget About Me’ is a beautifully polished alt-pop number that will make it’s way into your playlists for 2018.
