Chatterbox: Adanna Duru

Hey, tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am 20 years old, I am a singer-songwriter and I am a dancer. I am Nigerian American and I have been singing ever since I could speak! Dance has always been a huge part of my life, I used to train professionally when I was about five years old. My faith means the world to me, and so do family and friends.

Where did the new single come from?

My new single, “Fingertips” came from a personal experience. Musically, I got the chords from Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon In The Sky!” Kofi Agyei and I were listening to the song, took the first two chords of the verse and looped it – everything else just came from the heart. It was really fun to help produce that record because it just came so naturally. I wrote that song about something real, so it was very easy to be honest and raw. This record is very special to me.

Is there more content in the pipeline?

Yes! There is definitely more content to come, very soon. We want to release something before the end of this year. I don’t want to necessarily say what it is yet, there has to be an element of surprise 🙂

What’s on the horizon for you?

There are a lot of things I want to do in my career. I truly believe that this is just the beginning. I know that God has a lot in store for me, it is just a matter of trusting in my path. It’s a matter of being able to stardive.
