Chatterbox: Nick Sharma

Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a Scandinavian artist from Norway, Oslo, fusing an Electronic sound with hip hop. Lyrically my themes revolve around metaphysics in mundane everyday situations.

How did the new single come about?

Come Over is inspired by Azealia Banks’ “Count Contessa”. When I first heard that song, it genuinely sounded like something from the future. I didn’t want to emulate the song, but rather channel that same future feeling. Lyrically, the song is about how to deal with negative feelings.

One year ago, I thought the best way to live was to exclusively think positively, so I literally walked around forcefully thinking positvely. Truth is, you can’t push feelings like those aside, they are there for a reason, and to best process them, I found out that I have to integrate them by interrogating and identifying them and thus fully feel them, so that I can release them. Insights can make songs, and they often do.

Is there more content in the pipeline?

I have released 1 single per month from March, and I think I have a couple of more until September. (Spotify, iTunes, Soundcloud)
What’s on the horizon for you?

Two EP’s! The electronic XTROVERT EP (with “Come Over” and “Slow Down” etc) followed by the minimalistic INTROVERT EP. Last but not least, I’ll hopefully release a full length LP called AMBIVERT/SUPEREGO as a culmination of this.
