‘Falling’ is the title of Gabri’s debut single. As a second year student at Berklee College of Music, the American singer-songwriter lives and breathes music. You can tell that time has been spent on crafting her voice, the writing is mature and considered – there’s a real uniqueness about the vocal.
Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a singer-songwriter in my second year at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I’m originally from Dallas, TX, so I would say I’ve been influenced by country music and artists. I idolize and find most of my inspiration from Kacey Musgraves, Johnnyswim, and Maddie & Tae. I am actually the first musician in my family, but my Dad’s Cuban side has definitely exposed me to music my whole life.
Where did the new single come from?
Living in the heart of Boston has definitely inspired me to write this song. I usually tend to write about personal things going on in my life, and during this time, I was falling for someone that was heartbroken. So this song is all about my journey through that relationship.
What other content is in the pipeline?
Well, this is my first single, but I plan on finishing up some writing and putting out an EP before the end of 2017.
What is on the horizon for you?
For me, I plan on graduating from Berklee with a Music Business degree, and going from there. I plan on finishing up my EP, and seeing where that takes me.
