With bold strokes of 80s nostalgia and a fiercely modern edge, this British-Armenian artist Ripsime has crafted an anthem that feels both timeless and exhilaratingly fresh with her latest single ‘Paradise’. Like stepping into a neon-lit dreamscape, this track envelops you with its lush synths, wavy guitars, and pulsing basslines, all building to an electrifying crescendo that bursts with euphoria. From the opening notes, the track establishes an expansive, otherworldly atmosphere, a sonic horizon that stretches endlessly. As the reverb-soaked guitars rise like glowing embers, Ripsime’s vocals ignite, radiant and commanding, echoing the emotional intensity of Kate Bush. Her voice becomes a guiding star through a bittersweet reflection on love and loss, grounding the celestial soundscape with raw humanity.
The production is nothing short of masterful. The bass, recorded on a Fender Precision, anchors the track with a heartbeat that’s as steady as it is transformative, while shimmering synths and driving percussion propel it forward like a comet streaking through the night. It’s the kind of song that captures the aching beauty of connection: eternal, transcendent, unbound by time or space.
“I anchored this track with a solid bass foundation recorded on a Fender Precision by my bandmate, Luke. We embraced an 80s vibe with the drums, while Luke layered bass effects using various chorus and distortion pedals, perfectly matching the build-up to the drop. This became one of my favourite tracks to produce because it flowed so effortlessly.”
