Originating as a banjo-infused backstage creation in San Francisco, the track evolved through various phases, taking inspiration from Grimes and transitioning into an early 2000s rock vibe reminiscent of The White Stripes. With lyrical references to fairy tales and the musical Gypsy, ‘Goldilocks’ transforms into a bombastic dance bop—a tongue-in-cheek pep talk, a vaudeville striptease, and a whip-cracking manifesto that showcases Odetta Hartman’s eclectic and innovative musical approach.
