Serbian singer, songwriter, and educator Nevena enchants with her latest single ‘Lena’, a poignant tribute to her beloved niece. This emotionally charged ballad navigates the terrain of love, yearning, and the challenges of a performing artist who finds solace in music amidst the ache of separation.

Nevena’s musical trajectory boasts passion, persistence, and acclaim. Having risen to prominence as a finalist in First Voice of Serbia, her journey crossed borders, landing her on international tours. Furthering her musical education at Berklee School of Music in Boston, Nevena’s talent blossomed on revered stages like Gotham Hall and Symphony Space. Her artistic prowess was soon validated with a record deal from Town Hill Colony and international recognition.

Her commitment to nurturing budding talents led to the establishment of Monody Music School. Meanwhile, her signing with Frontiers in 2021 marked a new chapter, culminating in her self-titled album. ‘Lena’ emerged on a serenely reflective night, sparked by a photograph of her niece. The songwriting process was an emotional thirty-minute odyssey, resulting in a beautiful, tear-touched ode.

Produced in collaboration with renowned producer Dusan Alagic, ‘Lena’ captures Nevena’s evocative storytelling. The piano, played by the artist herself, forms the soulful backdrop recorded at the Village Studios in Los Angeles. The poignant lyrics and entrancing melodies of ‘Lena’ resonates deeply, leaving an indelible mark on Nevena’s ever-evolving musical tapestry.

“My niece’s name is Lena, and she lives in Serbia. Being a performing artist requires so much traveling; we often must sacrifice time with our loved ones. Although a distance from our family and the people we love can stir up a feeling of sadness and emptiness, it can also remind us how much we love them. This song is about my lonely nights, far away from my niece. This song is about my love for her.”
