Chloe Mogg bursts into New Music Friday with ‘Heaven Sent You’, a vibrant and introspective alt-rock track that draws from a range of influences, although might remind one of an fresh and nostalgic mix between Alanis Morissette, Jade Bird and Sheryl Crow. Underpinning this energetic guitar-led sound is a tribute to the people who have supported Chloe throughout her musical journey; this dedication is infused with a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the connections she has made. With haunting harmonies, fuzzy guitar lines, and an infectious drumbeat, ‘Heaven Sent You’ is equal parts outwardly anthemic (perfect for a live show) and emotionally introspective (for rocking out by yourself).
‘Heaven Sent You’ is also set for feature on Chloe Mogg’s upcoming debut album, joyfully titled The Crazy One, which promises to be a collection of songs that delve into themes of mental health, discrimination, and personal growth. The album is a narrative that while personal to the artist, is undeniably relatable and so important to discuss in these complicated times. It’s really not surprise that Chloe has blended her advocate nature into her music, as she’s passionate about raising awareness about invisible illness in the music industry.
For now though, let’s dive into the dynamic mix of alt-rock and folktronica in Chloe Mogg’s brilliant new single ‘Heaven Sent You’.
“I performed at a festival with my band to hundreds, possibly a thousand people or so in Bewdley, and the crowd and I instantly ‘clicked’. They were singing along to my songs, dancing and even forming moshpits (!!!) (which they referred to as Mogg Pits), it was incredible. This song is an ode to that night and how it reminded me that doing music is one of my callings in life”.
