So, I was scrolling through my approved tracks on SubmitHub and realised that I hadn’t covered Petrie’s most recent single, despite absolutely loving it. We ran an interview with the band when ‘Slurs’ came out and they were transitioning from a duo to a trio, explaining: “We’re excited to bring our best bud and backing singer Jess (Ica) to the forefront, continuing to embed her vocals into our sound and have her as a featured artist in future releases.”

‘Late Night’ is pop in its most effervescent form; fun, frank and feverishly fearless. The production is astounding, flecks of side-chained guitar fill the wide spaces around George’s captivating vocal… and then the chorus kicks in. Brash beat work and glitchy percussive samples surround artfully arranged synths. It really does deserve your attention.
