Lauria’s debut album Moon is a heartfelt expression of self-love

In her debut album Moon, Lauria seamlessly blends neo-soul and contemporary pop, resulting in a beautifully crafted, multi-layered collection of eight tracks. Each arrangement exuding refinement, relaxation, and deft emotionality. The artist’s angelic vocals effortlessly navigate the diverse instrumental landscapes, from the gentle piano ballad of ‘With Shaking Hands’ to the jazz-infused ‘Anywhere But Here’ to the nostalgic R&B grooves of ‘Away.’ As you’ll hear, Lauria prowess as a songwriter with the ability to weave poignant themes into her songs is present throughout.

Recorded in 2022 at Studios Piccolo in Montréal, Moon boasts a professional touch thanks to the collaboration with Dominique Messier, the studio owner and Céline Dion’s drummer. The result is a distinctive and beautiful sonic journey. Lauria’s lyrical talents shine through on each track, revealing her depth as a storyteller. The album’s narrative reflects the musician’s personal evolution through darkness, loss, and self-discovery. It’s an exploration of emotions and a testament to the transformative power of music. Collaborating with artist J.Sol adds another dimension to two of the tracks.

Ultimately, this album serves as a beacon of hope and strength, offering solace to those experiencing dark times. It’s a reminder that even in our heaviest moments, we can channel that energy into creating something beautiful. This message of resilience and self-love is bound to leave a lasting impact on anyone who takes the time to listen.

“I recorded this album at Studios Piccolo in Montréal during the year 2022. Most songs were produced by Dominique Messier, the owner of the studio and Céline Dion’s drummer. For most songs we first worked together to polish the beats and instrumentals that I had already and inspired me. Messier added his own touch to every song, making sure each had a distinctive, beautiful final result. I wrote all my lyrics, some songs had been written years prior and needed to be freshened up, others were brand new. I also collaborated with Bronx-native artist J.Sol on two of the songs of the project. She completely understood the emotions I was trying to convey in both songs and unlocked a new dimension of both of them. The entire album, or rather the decisions to take all of these songs together to make one project came after some darker moments I had last year. I found myself turning to music to express my frustrations, anger, sadness, etc., and realized that they all told the same story, but from a different point in a timeline. Together and in order, the eight songs tell a story of loss, loss of people, loss of control, loss of self, and they journey towards hope, strength and perseverance with a single goal: to find self-love.” I hope this album will show people going through dark times that they’re not alone, that this heavy energy can be used to create something beautiful, instead of letting it destroy who they are.”
